Introducing Klangfarben Creative
A music school united by melody
Klangfarbenmelodie is about bringing unique tones together to create a single melody.
That’s the vision behind Klangfarben Creative – a community connected by the music we create together.
Whether it’s a young child gliding their violin bow for the first time or an accomplished musician refining their performance, everyone is part of the melody at Klangfarben Creative.
Led by internationally-renowned violinist Tabea Sitte-Irwin, Klangfarben Creative is a nurturing and supportive music school. This is where students flourish into the musicians they dream of becoming, learning a language that can take them on endless adventures through the world.
Meet Tabea
At the tender age of 5, supported by her music-loving family, Tabea picked up the instrument that would shape the fabric of her life. After years of refining her sound, Tabea was invited to study the violin at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and New York University, opportunities which enabled her to step onto the world stage.
For Tabea, the violin has given her wings across the world, performing internationally and touring alongside artists like Matteo Bocelli and Michael Buble, and featuring in a range of TV, theatre and movie roles – including Baz Luhrman’s Elvis and Shake and Stir’s A Christmas Carol.
Tabea was awarded Global Talent Permanent Residency by the Australian Government in 2024, recognising her significant contributions to the arts. In her adopted home here in Brisbane, Tabea has been a regular on the stages of QPAC, as well as the Candlelight Concerts series and many of Topology’s innovative in-school programs.
“Taking students on their musical journey is a privilege. Seeing others develop their passion for sharing music and telling stories on their instrument warms my heart.”
Meet our teachers
Supporting our community
At Klangfarben Creative, music is part of our everyday life. It’s an opportunity to share emotions and express ourselves freely. But being able to enjoy the art of music is a privilege that not everyone shares. For some families, simply having a safe home and basics like clothing, toys and food is hard enough.
We’re proud to be able to give back to local families around us. We are committed to donating to charities and organisations that support survivors of domestic violence and families in need.
