Small Group Instrumental Lessons for Young Musicians

Learn Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Piano, Guitar or Drums in a supportive small-group setting where students build confidence and strong musical foundations.

School Pickup Option

Students attending Yeronga State School can join our supervised walk from school to the Klangfarben Creative studio for their lesson.

Students enrolled in BAM together with an instrumental lesson are collected from school as part of the program.

For students attending lessons only, a supervised pickup from Yeronga State School is available for the 3:45pm lesson only, with a $10 pickup fee in addition to the lesson fee.

Families from other schools are warmly welcome to attend lessons with parent drop-off.

Beginners Welcome

Many students begin their musical journey at Klangfarben Creative with no prior musical experience.

Our small-group lessons provide a supportive environment where beginners can learn alongside other students at a similar stage, building confidence and strong musical foundations together.

Teachers guide each student according to their level, ensuring lessons are welcoming for beginners while supporting steady musical progress.

Complete the required student information and permission forms prior to your child’s first session.

Students attend the same day and time each week, creating a simple and consistent routine for families.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our instrumental lessons are taught in small groups of up to six students.
    This allows students to receive individual attention while also benefiting from learning alongside others.

    Students listen to each other, play together, and develop ensemble skills while progressing on their own instrument.

  • No, beginners are very welcome.

    Students are grouped by age and experience level, so beginners can start comfortably while more experienced students continue to develop their skills in a supportive environment.

  • Yes. Small group lessons combine individual instruction with collaborative learning.

    Students receive guidance on their own instrument while also developing:

    • rhythm and listening skills

    • ensemble playing

    • musical confidence

    Learning alongside others often helps students stay motivated and engaged.

  • If you are unable to attend a lesson, please provide at least 48 hours’ written notice.

    We offer one make-up lesson per term, subject to availability.
    Additional make-ups or credits are not offered.

  • For some instruments, students will need to bring their own instrument once they begin lessons.

    For beginner programs and certain instruments, instruments may be provided during lessons.
    Your teacher will advise what is needed after enrolment.
